Marc Todd Concrete completed this heavy-duty commercial concrete slab for Benchmark in Waterloo, Indiana. The slab was poured 12 inches, or a full 1 foot, in thickness for the demands of this commercial application.
The slab includes rebar reinforcement spaced at 2 feet on center and a vapor barrier beneath the concrete to help control moisture migration from the ground. The concrete mix also includes IntraSeal, an integral water-repellent admixture designed to reduce water absorption and provide additional protection against moisture penetration throughout the concrete. Together with the substantial one-foot slab thickness, these specifications provide a heavily reinforced concrete installation designed for the requirements of this commercial facility.
